- Packet newPack = Packet(recvdPack);
…so I made a packet out of a packet so you can pack packets while you pack packets.
(That explains some funky bugs I was getting… and prompting a giant “WTF was I thinking?!?”)
o.o
It’s been a little while since a post. So I guess it’s update time, at least from me. The basic Espect client is more or less almost done; by this, I mean it has yet to be pretty-fied, but the functionality is nearly done. Once the rewrite of our network code is done (again), the client *should* be functional, and at least usable.

Well, it’s that time of the quarter again: the time where I realize just how many classes I decided to take on, and just how much work is left before the end of the semester. (Quite a few, and a lot.) As such, I don’t have a lot of time for working on Phoenix. Once finals are over, and especially over Christmas break, I expect updates to be very frequent.
On another note, anyone who follows Trac (if you don’t, you should! It shows what we’re focusing on, and has a nifty ticket system for reporting bugs) may have noticed that a lot of features from the planned 0.0.3 release got pushed back to the 0.0.4. This is because we found quite a few stability issues with Phoenix that need to be worked out before we go pushing even more features onto it. Don’t fear though, they will make it in, just a bit later on a much more stable platform.
Until next time.

I finally broke down and bought a VPS as a test server, after one too many tries at forcing the venerable old GHOST to work (I’m not sure if it’s an issue with GHOST or a routing issue, but either way nobody could connect to test). The new server is named “Izanami” after the Shinto goddess of creation and death.
She’s not a very powerful server, but it suits our needs find. Some stats:
CPU: 1.2Ghz
RAM: 128MB
This will hopefully last us for a little while, at least until we have more users/funding.
Welcome to the new website for Esoteric Perspectives!
So you’re probably wondering, what is Esoteric Perspectives? Right now it’s just a project of a few people working on our flagship product, “Espect” (working name). More details will be released as it progresses.
Who is Esoteric Perspectives? There are two founding members, Echopse and Vice. Others can be found on our staff page.
That’s all I can think of for now. So long!
